About

Literature Noir is a virtual book club that serves as a safe space where we connect with marginalized voices and uplift them. Literature Noir was birthed out of the need for Jessica Bethel, to connect back to reading consistently. What started out as a local book club amongst friends evolved into an online community of over 10k and 500+ members. The only way to break free from our oppressive systems is through reading, learning, and building new spaces that account for Black, Indigenous, and people of color from the beginning.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How often do you meet?

We meet once a month via zoom. Through the book club app you'll be able to vote for which day works best for your schedule. Participation is encouraged at each discussion to make it a fullfilling discussion.

How many books do you read each month?

One book a month. Sometimes we go on reading side quests where we read an additional book (this is totally optional). Books are released quarterly. Giving you time to buy or borrow from your local library.

Do I need to read every book?

No, I'm very understanding that life be lifing, reading slumps happen, or you just don't want to read the book. Join in when you can!
